Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services to hold Webinars Introducing the Medical Assistance Intercept System (MAIS)

To introduce and help prepare the insurance industry and attorneys to the launch of the Medical Assistance Intercept System (MAIS),the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) will be hosting five (5) informational webinars in October. Insurance companies conducting business in Rhode Island and interested attorneys are invited to attend a webinar to learn more about the statutory requirements and its implementation.

The MAIS system is designed to identify third party liability and workers’ compensation insurance claims of Medicaid recipients for possible intercept of payments for reimbursement to the State of Rhode Island’s Medicaid Program. Participation in the program is highly recommended.

MAIS will conduct its webinars on October 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, and 24th. The agenda for each webinar is identical and will include: the Rhode Island law, overview of the MAIS system, and the, requirements necessary for compliance. Each webinar will be held at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time and last for approximately 30 - 45 minutes.
